Deadpool 3 Trailer Reveals New Title as Wade Wilson Declares Himself 'Marvel Jesus'
The first Deadpool 3 trailer appeared during a Super Bowl LVIII commercial break, revealing a closer look at Wade Wilson’s foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his best friend, Wolverine.
It’s a meaty video that finally gives us an official look at how the film is shaping up ahead of its summer premiere plans, but more importantly, it gives us an official new title: Deadpool and Wolverine. It's a title that will see some of Marvel's most important characters finally facing off on the MCU stage, and of course, the fourth wall breaks are here too.
See Deadpool poke fun at Disney and tease Wolverine's first appearance in the trailer below.
Deadpool 3 will be one of the first Marvel projects to truly tackle the emergence of X-Men characters in the MCU. The Merc with a Mouth’s two previous movies existed before Disney had finalized its purchase of 21st Century Fox, meaning that the upcoming third film has the opportunity to play with the idea of universe crossovers while still working with some new rules. We at least know that the film, which sees Ryan Reynolds return as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman return as Wolverine, will be rated R.
Deadpool 3 is the next MCU entry, but it’s also the only movie in that universe that fans are getting this year. Theaters won’t get another MCU flick until February 2025 with the release of Captain America: Brave New World, though there are a few Disney+ shows still scheduled to arrive in 2024. Subscribers can expect to check out Agatha: Darkhold Diaries this fall, with other projects like X-Men ’97, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and Eyes of Wakanda all set to start rolling out before the year is out, too.
Deadpool 3 cuts into theaters on July 26, 2024.
